Cochrane Tourism will endeavour to promote Cochrane through the encouragement and facilitation of events, promotions and campaigns to raise the awareness of Cochrane as an outstanding, innovative and exciting visitor destination. This assignment will be achieved in conjunction with other organizations, groups, and levels of government with full cooperation and integrity. (February 2007)

The Historic Downtown Cochrane Visitor Information Centre is open daily at 209-2nd Avenue West,  Please visit or call between 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday to Friday and 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.  (403-851-2960)

The Cochrane Ranche Historic Site

The Cochrane Ranche Historic Site, the location of Alberta's first large scale livestock operation in 1881, is accessible year-round. It is a 136 acre public park with picnic tables, two fire pits, and an outdoor stage. “Discover the Ranche” programming is offered by the Town of Cochrane Recreation, Culture & the Arts, including self-guided tours, interpretive programs and special events.  The Historic Westerson Cabin is located in the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site at the junction of Hwy 1A and Hwy 22 and is the site of a variety of free cultural and heritage demonstrations occurring on Saturday mornings (late May to August) during the Farmers Market.  For more information about “Discover the Ranche”, contact the Recreation, Culture & the Arts Office at 403-851-2534.  

Downtown Visitor Information Centre

The Historic Downtown Cochrane Visitor Information Centre is located at 209-2nd Avenue West.  It is open from the May long weekend to Labour Day, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday to Friday and 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.  Tourism information, public washrooms, and Cochrane souvenirs are available here.
