Evexia Travel Boutique
In these challenging times, the travel and tourism industry has been hit mighty hard. But when I think of Evexia Travel, I am struck by a quote from HG Wells:
“Adapt or perish, now as ever, is nature’s inexorable imperative.”
In the beginning
Evexia Travel owner Julia Lutchman has been in the travel business for the past 15 years. She set up virtual shop in 2011 and launched her bricks and mortar shop at 519 1st Street West just last September. What sets her apart is her holistic approach to the business, not just booking clients from A to B and back again, but taking care of every imaginable detail to make each journey seamless and stress free. And if you just typed Evexia into your favourite search engine, you will see it’s Greek for “well-being.” You get the picture. Lutchman combines her passion for travel and well-being into inspirational customized holidays to help her clients “wander well.”
Adapt or perish
Things were going along swimmingly until a pesky virus changed, well, everything. Not to be deterred, Julia has been busy re-imagining her business. She has paired up a love of travel with a love of books. And now you can stop in to browse and shop hundreds of used books on every topic and genre you can imagine. Stay tuned for author reading nights and get ready for the re-imagined book club.
Retreat, recharge, reconnect
Most female entrepreneurs and small business owners will tell you that keeping up with industry trends and advancements is a necessity but personal growth is equally important. Knowing well the challenge of finding time to do both, Lutchman and fellow entrepreneur, Kailey Leonzio from Quirk have joined forces to produce and co-host a women’s personal and professional weekend retreat. It takes place September 24 through mid-day on the 27 that the Ursa Retreat Centre. Less than 25 minutes north and slightly west of Cochrane, the centre is an oasis of calm in 18 acres of forestland, crisscrossed with spring-fed streams. The hiking is heavenly and the food is divine.
Professional mini-makeovers and a photo shoot get the weekend started. Guest and keynote speakers will present on everything from branding your business to marketing strategies to health and beauty. Stir in lots of time for being in nature, relaxing by the fire, and making new connections and you have a perfect recipe for success.
Another HG Wells quote comes to mind and Evexia Travel nails it:
“What really matters is what you do with what you have.”
